ประวัติ Cat Stevens
Steven Demetre Georgiou เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 21 กรกฏาคม 1948 โดยมีบิดาเป็นชาวกรีกและมารดาเป็นชาวสวีเดน ปัจจุบันเขาอายุ 60 ปี และเป็นนักร้อง นักแต่งเพลง ในแนว Folk Rock, Pop, Nashedd ในช่วงปี 1966 -1980 เขาได้ใช้ชื่อในการแสดงว่า Cat Stevens และในปี 1995 ถึงปัจจุบันเขาได้ใช้ชื่อ Yusuf Islam ผลงานเพลงของเขามีออกมามากมาย และขายได้มากกว่า 60 ล้านอัลบั้มตั้งแต่ช่วงปี 1960 เป็นต้นมา โดยอัลบั้ม Tea for the Tillerman และ Teaser and the Firecat เป็นอัลบั้มที่มียจอดจำหน่ายสูงสุด โดยได้รับรางวัล Triple Platinum โดย RIAA ใน สหรัฐอเมริกา และอัลบั้ม Cath Bull at Four ก็สามารถทำยอดขายได้ถึง 500,000 ก็อบปี้ภายในเพียงแค่ 2 สัปดาห์ที่วางจำหน่าย และติดอันดับ บิลบอร์ดชาร์จ ต่อเนื่องถึง 3 สัปดาห์. จากผลงานการแต่งเพลงของเขาทำให้เขาได้รับรางวัล ADCAP songwriting awards จากงานเพลง “The First Cut Is the Deepest” ซึ่งสามารถฮิตติดอันดับโดยการนำมาร้องใหม่ของนักร้องถึง 5 คนด้วยกัน คือP.P.
