คงจะปฏิเสธไม่ได้ว่าทุกวันนี้หากเราหมุนคลื่นวิทยุไปยังคลี่นไหน หรือดูหนังฮอลลีวู้ดดังๆ ก็คงหนีไม่พ้นบทเพลงที่แต่งโดย Bill Withers แน่นอน เพราะบทเพลงของเขาถูกนำมาร้องใหม่ เรียบเรียงใหม่แม้แต่เพลง “Just the two of us” ดาราชื่อดัง Will Smith ก็ยังนำมาร้องใหม่ในอัลบั้มล่าสุดของเขาซึ่งนำเสนอได้อย่างสวยงามและไพเราะ หรือเพลง “Lean on me” เพลงให้กำลังใจมีความหมายที่ดี ที่นำมาร้องใหม่โดยวง Club Nouveu และเพลงยอดนิยม “Aint’ no sunshine” ก็ได้ถูกนำมาร้องใหม่จากนักร้อง นักดนตรี รวมถึงเป็นเพลงประกอบภาพยนตร์ ละคร โดยเฉพาะภาพยนต์ รักโรแมนติกอย่าง “Nothing’s Hill” ก็ได้นำเพลงนี้มาประกอบฉากแสดงความรู้สึกของตัวพระเอกเมื่อความรักจากไปได้อย่างสวยงาม……..

Bill Withers ได้หยุดงานเพลงหลังจากออกอัลบั้มชุดสุดท้ายในปี 1985 คือ Wathing you, Wahting me, และ singles “Whatever Happens” และ “You Just Can’t Smile It Away” และใช้ชีวิตในบั้นปลายกับภรรยาของเขา เพลงของเขาเป็นอมตะ และมีความเรียบง่าย เมื่อเขาร้องเพลง เขาจะร้องโดยเป็นตัวของเขาเอง แสดงออกถึงความจริงใจของเขาที่มีอยู่ในบทเพลงเสมอ ภาษาที่ใช้ไม่ซับซ้อน เรียบง่าย แต่แสดงความรู้สึกได้ตรงใจมากที่สุด ทำให้เพลงของเขาเป็นที่ชื่นชอบจนถึงทุกวันนี้
